Apple Wallet
A loyalty card straight in Apple Wallet
The customer adds their card in a few seconds from their iPhone. Once saved in Apple Wallet, it stays at hand without having to look for an app or an email.
The idea
What is an Apple Wallet loyalty card?
Apple Wallet is the iPhone app that holds bank cards, tickets and boarding passes. It also accepts loyalty cards, in the format defined by Apple: a signed card, issued by the business, displayed with its logo and its colours.
AnkorCard makes this card for you. It carries your business's name, the customer's balance, their QR code and your next reward. It also appears on the Apple Watch paired with the iPhone, with nothing to do.
Adding it
How the customer adds their card
They scan your QR code
The one on the counter, with the iPhone camera. Your business's sign-up form opens in the browser.
They fill in the form
First name and email, plus the fields you have chosen. Agreeing to receive messages is a separate box, which they tick or not.
They tap "Add to Apple Wallet"
The iPhone shows a preview of the card. The customer confirms, and it joins their other cards in Wallet.
No app
Nothing to download, neither for the customer nor for you
Apple Wallet is built into the iPhone. The customer does not open the App Store, does not create an account and has no password to remember. That is what makes signing up possible at the counter, while paying.
On your side, the management area and the scanner open in a browser. No software is installed on the till.
- No AnkorCard app on the customer's phone.
- No customer account or password.
- No update to make: the card keeps up by itself.
- If the card is deleted, the customer gets it back with “Renvoyer ma carte par e-mail” (resend my card by email).
At the till
The QR code, on the front of the card
The customer opens their card in Wallet, or on their watch, and shows the QR code. The staff member scans it with the AnkorCard scanner, from the business's phone or tablet. The card displays even without a network: it is stored in the iPhone.
This code identifies the customer; on its own it credits nothing. Only a staff account signed in to your business's scanner can add points. The details are on the loyalty card with QR code page.
Balance and rewards
An up-to-date balance after each visit
The balance
As soon as a staff member credits points, AnkorCard updates the card on the customer's iPhone, who sees their new balance before putting their phone away. If they have no network at that moment, the update arrives as soon as they get it back.
The same goes when you change your logo or colours: cards already installed take on the new look, without the customer having to reinstall them.
The rewards
The card shows the next tier and how far there is to go. When the customer reaches it, the staff member confirms the reward from the scanner; the points are deducted and the card follows.
On the back of the card, which the customer opens with one gesture: their current vouchers, your addresses, your opening hours, your website and your social networks.
Set up points and rewardsNotifications
An alert on the lock screen
An Apple Wallet card can show a notification, with your logo as the thumbnail. AnkorCard uses it at three moments.
- After a visit to the till, to confirm the points credited.
- When you send a message from the Campaigns tab.
- When the customer passes near one of your addresses: the card can then appear on their lock screen.
The customer stays in control: they can turn off the card's notifications in their iPhone settings, or delete the card.
How notifications workWhat it changes
For the business, and for the customer
For the business
- No more cards to print or stamp to keep an eye on.
- One profile per customer, with their visits and their last visit.
- A way to write to them without collecting their phone number.
- A card in your name, which updates when you change your colours.
For the customer
- The card is in the phone they always carry.
- They see their balance and next reward at any time.
- They show it from their iPhone or Apple Watch.
- They do not lose their points when they change phones.

Questions about the Apple Wallet card
Does the card work on Apple Watch?
Yes. A card added to Apple Wallet on the iPhone automatically appears on the paired Apple Watch, with the same QR code to show. It is even the quickest gesture at the counter.
Which versions of iOS and Android are needed?
On iPhone, Wallet has been built into the system since iOS 6: no recent version is required. On Android, Google Wallet requires Android 5.0 or later and Google Play services. An Android phone without Google services, which happens on some imported models, will not be able to install the card.
What happens if a customer deletes their card from their Wallet?
Nothing is lost. The customer, their points and their history stay in your account: it is the card stored in the phone that disappears, not the account. They get it back by reopening your sign-up link and clicking “Renvoyer ma carte par e-mail” (resend my card by email). You can also resend it yourself: look them up by name or email address in the Clients tab of your account.
Do my customers receive a notification?
Yes. When you credit points or send a message, an alert appears on their lock screen, with your logo as the thumbnail. That is the real value of the digital card: your business reappears on a screen your customer looks at dozens of times a day.
What about iPad or a computer?
Wallet does not exist on iPad, and the card is designed to be shown at the counter from a phone or a watch. Your management area, however, opens on any computer, tablet or phone.
