Cashback loyalty programme: a kitty the customer understands at once

With cashback, every purchase fills a kitty in euros, shown on the customer's card and usable at the till. No points to convert, no tier to understand: the customer sees what they have earned.Updated on

The idea: a kitty in euros

With each purchase, a percentage of the amount goes into the customer's kitty. Their card shows the balance in euros and their rate: “CAGNOTTE 12,40 €” (kitty), “CASH-BACK 5 %”. After each visit, a message on the lock screen announces what has just been added.

Choosing your rate

The rate is set between 0.5% and 50% in your account. The right level depends on your margin: 3 to 5% suits most businesses, and stays noticeable on a thirty-euro basket. You can also set a minimum amount before use, for example €5, so that the kitty is spent on a real purchase.

Tiers for the best customers

Tiers pay back more to those who buy the most: as soon as a customer has reached a cumulative purchase amount with you, their next purchases are credited at the tier's rate. Their card shows their rate, and how far they still have to go to the next tier: “Encore 45,00 € pour 7 %” (€45.00 more for 7%).

Using the kitty at the till

The customer shows their card, the staff member scans it and deducts the amount of their choice, up to the balance, once the minimum is reached. One operation is limited to €100, whether credit or use. The card updates at once.

What the kitty is not

The kitty is a credit usable only in the shop, at the business that credited it, as a deduction from a purchase. It cannot be exchanged for cash, refunded, or transferred to another person or another business. These conditions are repeated on the back of each card, on the sign-up page, and in our terms and conditions (in French).

For which businesses

Cashback suits variable baskets: shops, beauty salons, wine shops, delicatessens. For frequent visits and similar baskets, as in a café or a bakery, the stamp card remains simpler.

Changing programme

Switching to cashback, or back to points, changes the unit of the balances: one hundred and twenty points are not worth €1.20. As long as cards have a balance, this switch is prepared with the Ankor team, so that no customer loses out.
